Post Genre Period: Gallowwalkers

Film genres were shaped within the scope of Hollywood cinema and came to life. The systematic production of films that people like in society destroys the singularity of films and causes genre conventions. In the studio system of Hollywood cinema, movies were made according to genres and classified accordingly. Cinema is a costly art, and the audience has expectations. Making movies suitable for the targeted audience, actors, and genres of that period is one of the important issues in the cinema industry. Today, while some film genres are on the verge of being forgotten, sometimes there are films that combine many genres. The universe of the study consists of genre films. The aim of the study is to make it visible that hybrid films are made today, in which many genres are combined, without being tied to a single genre. Depending on the historical process of genre films, the post-genre period in which many genres are together today is discussed. In this context, a genre analysis of the movie “The Rope Spinn ers—G allow walke rs,” one of the movies released in recent years, was made. In this study, the movie determined by the purposive sampling technique was analyzed by the descriptive content analysis method. In the genre analysis, elements of the western and horror genres were observed in the film. It is also seen that fantastic, action and romantic film elements are also included in the film. This situation is read as a renewal movement of film genres against time. Nowadays, films that are born from the hybridization of several genres depending on audience tastes are more common than films belonging to a certain genre.

Tür Sonrası Dönem: İpten Dönenler

Hollywood sineması kendi içinde kurduğu sistemle farklı film türlerinin oluşmasını sağlamıştır. Toplumda beğenilen filmlerin sistematik şekilde yapılması filmlerin tek olma özelliğini yok edip tür uylaşımlarına sebep olmaktadır. Hollywood sinemasında stüdyo sisteminde filmler türlere göre yapılmış ve buna bağlı olarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Sinema maliyetli bir sanattır ve seyircinin beklentileri vardır. Hedeflenen izleyici kitlesine uygun türde filmler yapılması aynı zamanda o dönemin popüler konu, oyuncu ve türlerinin tercih edilmesi sinema sektöründe önem verilen konulardan biridir. Günümüzde bazı film türleri unutulmakta bazıları ise birçok türü içinde barındırmaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini tür filmleri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı günümüzde tek bir türe bağlı kalınmadan birçok türün bir arada olduğu hibrit türde filmler yapıldığını görünür kılmaktır. Tür filmlerinin tarihi sürecine bağlı olarak günümüzde birçok türün bir arada olduğu tür sonrası dönem ele alınmıştır. Son yıllarda çıkan filmlerden “İpten Dönen ler-G allow walke rs” filminin bu kapsamda tür çözümlemesi yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada amaçlı örneklem tekniğiyle belirlenen film içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Yapılan tür çözümlemesinde western ve korku türünün unsurları filmde görülmektedir. Ayrıca yine filmde fantastik, aksiyon ve romantik film ögelerine yer verildiği de görülmektedir. Bu durum film türlerinin zamana karşı verdiği bir yenileşme hareketi olarak okunmaktadır. Günümüzde filmlerde belli bir türe ait filmlerden ziyade izleyici beğenilerine bağlı olarak birkaç türün melezleşmesinden doğan filmler yaygındır.
